The last great superhero soundtrack album, as we all know, was Prince’s Batman in 1989. But there may be a new contender for the title, in the form of the Kendrick Lamar-produced Black Panther soundtrack, which is the main draw of a new TV spot for the movie, entitled “Rise.”
There’s a bit of a new Kendrick Lamar/Vince Staples collab from the soundtrack in “Rise,” which combined with a new look at Andy Serkis as BP’s archnemesis Ulysses Klaue (previously seen in Avengers: Age of Ultron) make up the main reasons to watch the teaser. Anyway, it’s only a minute and a half long, so if you’re at all psyched for the movie there’s no reason not to give it a look:
Marvel’s Black Panther hits theaters on February 16th, while the official soundtrack album drops a week before that. Check out the movie’s official site right here in the meantime.
