There’s the technically amazing skateboarding that’s astounding to people who know the sport but more or less uninteresting to people who don’t care about skateboarding, and then there’s the crazy, seemingly impossible trickery pulled off by skater Richie Jackson in a video for Thrasher magazine and Jackson’s skate brand Death Skateboards.
Richie Jackson’s skateboard tricks in the video involve each and every part of the skateboard, not just its four wheels on the ground in the usual skate-and-flip permutation. His shoes also deserve a shout-out, since they have the slipperiest soles since Buster Keaton, and they also get put to very good use. It’s incredible stuff, and as I alluded to in the first paragraph, you don’t even have to be all that interested in skating to be blown away by it.
But to really appreciate Richie Jackson’s work, you have to watch it below. And for more cool, skate-related stuff from Thrasher, check out the magazine’s official site right here.
