Space boots are always cool by virtue of the fact that they’re space boots – go ahead, try and imagine what a lame pair of space boots would even look like, I dare you – but that hasn’t stopped Reebok from trying to raise the bar for space boot style. They’re doing so with the Reebok Floatride Space Boot SB-01, billed by the brand as “the first evolution in space footwear in over 50 years.”
The Reebok Floatride Space Boot SB-01 was designed specifically for the crew of CST-100 Starliner, to be used in suits by astronauts shuttling to and from the International Space Station. Right now, the boots are being tested by astronauts, although what these tests actually entail is unclear.
Reportedly developed in conjunction with the David Clark Company, you’ll have to start your astronaut training now if you ever want to wear the Reebok Floatride Space Boot SB-01 – but the upcoming Floatride 100g Racer coming out next year might be the next best thing.
