Rapper Rick Ross might have to tighten his belt a little this summer, as he has lost his big Reebok endorsement deal over some controversial lyrics. The controversy stems from Ross’ verse in the song “U.O.E.N.O.” by Rocko, in which Ross spits the following line:
“Put molly all in her champagne, she ain’t even know it / I took her home and I enjoyed that, she ain’t even know it.”
Not exactly A Tribe Called Quest, is it?
In order to keep his deal with Reebok afloat, Rick Ross did apologize for the lyrics and offered the defense that the word “rape” does not appear in them. But this was evidently not enough for Reebok, who released a brief statement announcing the end of their relationship with Ross.
For Rocko’s part, he recently cut the offending line from the song altogether. Maybe Reebok would be interested in bringing him back now?
