I’m sure we all remember that guy who famously freaked out when he saw a “double rainbow all the way” and briefly became internet-famous. I don’t know where that guy is now, but someone should maybe check on him, since the recent appearance of a rare quadruple rainbow might have given him an aneurysm.
The quadruple rainbow happened in Glen Cove, New York, where it was photographed by Twitter user Amanda Curtis. It’s hard to tell from a tweet, but I’m pretty sure she managed to keep her cool in the face of this much beauty:

Others in the Glen Cove area got photos of double and triple rainbows, but this seems to be the best, clearest look at a quadruple rainbow, surely the four-leaf clover of rainbows. What does this mean? No one knows for sure, but the race is now on for someone to photograph a quintuple rainbow.
