As holiday travel starts to ramp up, it’s more obvious now than ever that air travel, despite being fast and (relatively) convenient, is actually a hellishly uncomfortable experience. But Teague, a firm that specializes in air travel design, has come up with a concept airline that eliminates many of the hassles of air travel and would introduce as-of-yet unheard-of comforts. It’s called Poppi.
The first thing you would notice if you were able to actually set foot on board a Poppi aircraft is that it doesn’t have any overhead bins. They take too long to load and take up too much space, so in their place there are slimmer compartments that can be loaded up to 70 percent faster than the traditional overhead bin. Other adjustments are less tangible but nevertheless intriguing. For instance, on a Poppi flight, passengers would get special incentives and perks for booking center seats. Then there’s “cinema class,” which enhances the typical in-flight movie experience to Martin Scorsese-approved levels.
Unfortunately, Poppi is just a concept for now, so there’s no telling when you’ll be able to give them a try for your Thanksgiving trip home. But you can get more information on how the airline could revolutionize air travel at Teague’s official site right here.
