The “Polaroid camera look” has experienced a bit of a resurgence thanks to photo apps like Instagram, which use filters to achieve the look that old Polaroid cameras produced naturally. But did you know that Polaroid was still making digital cameras – and not only that, but the kind that you can snap and print instantly, just like the old days?
The new Polaroid Z2300 Instant Digital Camera does have a few high-tech twists on the old format. The “ZINK Zero” paper that the camera prints on is made with “heat-activated color crystals” – the result is vivid photographs that you can frame, edit, and apply filters to right there in the camera before you print it. Cool, right?
The Z2300 is set for an August 15th release, and you can place an order on Polaroid’s website for $160. Not a bad price for keeping those embarrassing photos of you off the internet and in the real world, I think.
