When I was a little kid I was obsessed with cartoon objects existing in the real world—big wedges of Swiss cheese were a particular fixation. And I still have a soft spot for stuff like the new Pokéball collection of candy cases from Bandai, thanks to its strong attention to detail in bringing the Pokémon equipment into our three-dimensional reality.
I must admit that I’m not really up on my Poké lore, so I’m taking it on faith that Bandai’s Pokéball collection includes not just pokéballs but also such classic standbys as the Ultra Ball and Master Ball. They’re designed to hold candy rather than pocket monsters though, so don’t get your hopes up too high.
Altogether there are 11 different pokéballs in the Bandai Pokéball collection, and they reportedly cost about $64 pet set in Japan. Keep an eye out for a wider release sometime in the near future, especially if this whole Pokémon trend finally takes off.
