Pepsi J-Cola: For “Heavy Users” of Soda in Japan

Pepsi’s great, and with the possible exception of hardcore Coke partisans we all love it. But sometimes you require a deeper, purer cola fix, and in North America and other places that aren’t Japan, you’ve had to resort to bootleg black market colas in order to fill that need. In Japan, however, there’s Pepsi J-Cola.

Pepsi J-Cola was produced for “heavy drinkers” in conjunction with Suntory as well as a panel of more than a hundred of the brand’s hardest-core Japanese fans. There are several resultant varieties of J-Cola, including a Zero variant, as well as one called “Midnight,” which the product’s press release reportedly says “has a blackcurrant aroma and is designed to be enjoyed at night.”

I for one am intrigued. Unfortunately I don’t think I’m going to be in Japan any time soon, so I’ll have to content myself with reports on Pepsi J-Cola like this one.
