Good news for fans of new, and free, music: Adult Swim has apparently not let the abrupt end of its relationship with MF Doom stop them from continually exploring new projects in the field of music. If anything, it seems to have encouraged the programming block to put out more music, as evidenced by the new Singles 2017 project, the latest of which is a collaboration between Brian Eno and My Bloody Valentine’s Kevin Shields called “Only Once Away My Son.”
If you’re familiar with the work of Shields and Eno, you probably have a vague idea of what “Only Once Away My Son” sounds like – a dreamy haze of loud guitar that really does sound like the halfway point between MBV and some of Eno’s ambient work. But, alas, I have already said too much, since you’d probably be better off just listening to the track for yourself.
You can do that at the Adult Swim Singles 2017 site here, where you can hear not just “Only Once Away My Son” but the preceding 25 tracks of the project as well.
