Back in 2004, Vice Media purchased a London pub known as The Old Blue Last. Now, they’re finally capitalizing on the earning potential of that valuable trademark with their Old Blue Last Beer, a beer developed in conjunction with beer conglomerate AB InBev, owner of brands like Budweiser, Corona and Stella Artois.
Vice’s Old Blue Last Beer is billed as “an easy-drinking, five-percent-ABV beer with a refreshing, distinct flavor,” making it “a perfect patio beer.” But unless you live in Manhattan or Brooklyn, it won’t be found on a patio near you, since those are the only markets for which the beer is being brewed. It’s set to appear in select bars in those neighborhoods this month.
You can read a pretty cynical report on the Vice x AB InBev Old Blue Last Beer right here, and if you do find yourself in a Manhattan or Brooklyn bar over the next few weeks, you might ask if they have any Old Blue Last on hand.
