David Bowie died almost two years ago, but his influence remains as strong as ever. Last weekend, online radio station NTS and audio brand Sonos teamed up to pay tribute to Ziggy Stardust/Halloween Jack/The Thin White Duke/etc etc etc with the NTS x Sonos Bowie Broadcast, a whole weekend worth of Bowie-related radio programming headed up by some pretty big names.
Those names include electronic musician and composer David Holmes, Sonic Youth frontman Thurston Moore, musician Neneh Cherry, and many more, but the most important piece of the personnel puzzle for Bowie fans would have to be Iggy Pop, who actually worked with Bowie on many different music projects over the course of their careers. As NTS put it:
“NTS and Sonos present a full weekend of programming celebrating the everlasting influence of David Bowie, broadcasting direct from the new Sonos London store on Seven Dials in Covent Garden.”
The NTS x Sonos Bowie Broadcast came to an end on Sunday, but you can check out all the episodes for yourself right here. Some good listening for the long Thanksgiving weekend, possibly.
