Noria: An Impossibly Small Window Unit Air Conditioner

by Joseph

Summer, not to mention global warning, is coming right around the corner. And if you’re not lucky enough to live/work in places with central air, a window unit air conditioner is one of the best ways to beat the heat, and Noria is an air conditioner that breaks the mold for units of its type.

The most notable feature of Noria is its seemingly impossible compact size. Instead of taking up the entire window, it’s less than six inches tall and fits in the window frame with a special attachment. But despite its size it can still purportedly cool an entire room up to 10 feet by 16 feet with its 5,000 BTUs. It’s also extremely easy and intuitive to control, with synchronization and scheduling with a smartphone app also available.

Or at least it will be if Noria hits its fundraising goal on Kickstarter here, where pre-orders start at just under $250 and go up from there.
