You’re probably going to be hearing a lot about Nitro Brew coffee in the coming months, since it’s the latest trend in cold brew coffee and is on its way to being a part of the menu at Starbucks. Basically, coffee brewed by this method is infused and chilled with nitrogen, which reportedly has a plethora of advantages that traditional or cold brew iced coffees can’t match.
For instance, Nitro Brew coffee is said to have a “creamy, smooth” texture that immediately sets it apart from other kinds of iced coffee. According to a recent CNN story, Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz said that the coffee “almost comes out like a Guinness beer. These are craft products, not dissimilar to the trend of craft beer.”
Nitro Brew will be part of a new Starbucks cold bar coming to 10,000 North American locations just in time for the heat of summer, also according to that same CNN story which you can check out here.
