New from Nike, it’s Tiger Woods‘ latest signature golf shoe, taking inspiration from higher-profile sneakers (at least for sneakerheads) like the Air Jordan XX9. It’s the Nike TW15, featuring the brand’s patented Flyweave construction for a shoe that continues Nike’s development of performance-woven uppers in their products.
The Nike TW15’s Flyweave upper was designed by Nike’s Tobie Hatfield for maximum lightness, durability, and performance, and none other than Tiger himself gave the design his endorsement in a recent interview with Sole Collector:
“The neat thing about this Flyweave is that [Tobie Hatfield] was able to tighten up different parts of the shoe without adding weight. In years past that was the problem—you could tighten up different areas and add stability but it would add more weight as well.”
Taking preexisting design principles and adjusting them specifically for high performance on the golf course is just one of the accomplishments represented by the Nike TW15. Another is the shoe’s visual design, which you can get a good look at in the gallery below. And if you like what you see, head over to the official Nike online store here on February 12th, when the shoe will be available for pre-order at $250.
