With so much attention going to their remastered retro releases and their signature sneaker sequels, it’s extra-exciting when Nike produces a brand new model sneaker from the ground up – not a retread, and not a followup. That’s the case with the new Nike MetCon 1, the upcoming multipurpose training sneaker recently unveiled by the company.
The Nike MetCon 1 is meant to be a highly durable and versatile trainer, suitable for virtually any kind of exercise. That includes a firm heel specifically for weightlifting, and an outsole in ultra-adhesive rubber, with enough traction for climbing rope. And less esoteric forms of training are also suited for the sneaker.
Athlete Josh Bridges has given the Nike MetCon 1 his endorsement, and demonstrates a lot of what it can do in the video below.
