We don’t write about sneakers on this site as much as we used to, but every once in a while one comes along that’s of a more general interest than the usual collectible sneaker release. That’s the case with the Nike Kobe X Elite “Commander,” thanks to its taking inspiration from the basketball skills of none other than President Barack Obama.
The Nike Kobe X Elite “Commander” has a color scheme taken from Obama’s Punahou School prep academy in Hawaii, but the most explicit presidential visual touch would have to be the presidential seal stamped on the tongue. All in all, it’s a good pair of sneakers to wear if you want to shoot hoops like the president.
