The year 2012 marks the 30th anniversary of the legendary Flimby shoe factory. To celebrate the anniversary, New Balance will be offering a couple of limited edition sneakers in its Fall 2012 lineup.
The package, which is named “Farmer’s Market,” consists of two stylish and original versions of the 577 dedicated to the so-called farmer’s markets in Cumbria; open markets organized by farmers, ranchers and small businesses in the food industry who serve the local communities. It’s a good way to pay tribute to the tradition in relation to the Flimby factory, which is located in the area.
Inspired by the farmer’s markets, the materials in both pairs of shoes consist of leather or fine fabrics in the tradition of English materials like waxed cotton canvas, twill, and flannel.
The pack is due out in September 2012 in selected New Balance retailers.
