Remember those “NETFLIX IS A JOKE” billboards? Turns out, they were put up by Netflix as we already knew, but it wasn’t just some viral stunt designed to grab the already massively popular streaming service a few extra social media shares. No, it’s actually the name of a whole new ad campaign for Netflix, and a new spot touting the slogan has some serious (well, maybe not “serious”) comedy heavyweights taking part.
Jerry Seinfeld, Ellen DeGeneres, Chris Rock, and Dave Chappelle are doing that thing where comedians interact with dramatic material – in this case, Netflix original series like House of Cards, Orange is the New Black, and Stranger Things. Why? Because “Netflix Is A Joke,” as Dave himself intones at the very end of the commercial.
