The mad geniuses at Taco Bell have found yet another variation on the taco shell, and it’s almost unbelievable that such a thing could exist. It’s in service of the Naked Chicken Chalupa, one of the chain’s folded delicacies but with “four ounces of marinated, all-white-meat, antibiotic-free chicken kicked up with bold Mexican spices and seasoning” in lieu of the usual tortilla shell.
It puts one in a mind of that time when George Costanza got traded with Tyson’s Chicken in exchange for all-chicken menu items at Yankee Stadium. But not even the chicken-like CEO of Tyson’s could have envisioned the fried chicken shell of the Naked Chicken Chalupa, which to appease health nuts is stuffed with a surprisingly not-horrible-for-you blend of lettuce, tomato, cheese, and an avocado ranch dressing.
The Naked Chicken Chalupa will reportedly be at a Taco Bell near you at the end of this month, priced at $2.99 a pop. What a time to be alive.
