People tend to share music that they’re listening to on Facebook all the time, but (be honest, now) how often do you ever listen to something someone else posted? Facebook appears to be working to improve this frustrating aspect of human nature with their Music Stories feature, rolling out now for users of the Facebook iOS app.
Facebook Music Stories is integrated with both Spotify and Apple Music, and allows users to share short 30-second preview clips of songs onto their news feeds, which include links to stream or download the songs and/or albums in full. The end result, according to Facebook, will be that “artists will share more, friends will share and engage more, and music will become a better part of the Facebook experience overall.”
We’ll just have to wait and see if that’s the case, but we won’t have to wait long, since Music Stories is reportedly being introduced to iOS Facebook app users as I type this. And to read Facebook’s press release on the feature, just head over to their media site right here.
