I don’t have a lot of firsthand experience with carpool lanes, but I’ve always been curious about attempts to circumvent the law regarding them as seen on sitcoms like Curb Your Enthusiasm. But whereas Larry David hired a prostitute to get him in the diamond lane, not everyone has the Seinfeld money to pull something like that off – so one guy in Washington state used the next best thing, a cardboard cutout of the Dos Equis “Most Interesting Man in the World” beer spokesman.
The criminal mastermind behind this scheme ended up getting a $124 ticket for violating the law of the HOV lane, but the ticketing officer did admit he earned an “A for creativity” in a tweet about the incident.
It’s not known how long this guy got away with fake-carpooling with the Most Interesting Man in the World, but he’s probably loving all the attention he’s getting on the internet for it now, even though it cost him a cool $124. That’s a lot of Dos Equis.
You can check out the real Most Interesting Man in the World at the official Dos Equis site right here.
