It’s been a while since we heard from filmmaker Peter Jackson, who has taken a break from adapting Tolkien stories to tackle another popular fantasy series of more recent vintage. And now, we have a trailer for Mortal Engines to tide us over until the movie comes out in about a year’s time.
I’m not familiar with the book series, but judging strictly from the trailer Mortal Engines appears to take place in some kind of steampunk-inflected dystopia, where everyone lives in dust and grime except for a few lucky people who live on board a giant mobile machine that is all that remains of the city of London. Whoa! Wow!
Take a look at the trailer for Mortal Engines, which will presumably be followed by two additional sequels helmed by Jackson, below. But to see the movie itself you’ll have to wait until December 18th, 2018, when it’s set to come out – unless the world ends before then.
