New from Ford, it’s the latest part (and the third smart bicycle) of their Smart Mobility project, the confusingly named MoDe:Flex. This smart bike was engineered with cycling enthusiasts in mind, but it comes equipped with an array of smart technology features that would probably make a seasoned cyclist gasp.
That includes the MoDe:Flex’s pothole detection system, which alerts the rider to approaching potholes with a warning vibration. It can be peddled like a normal bike or propelled through battery power, and that battery can be charged in any Ford vehicle (and presumably other power sources as well).
You can see a few photos of the collapsible, rechargeable, and smart Ford MoDe:Flex smart bike in the gallery below. Release details and a price tag are still to be announced, but you can get some more information at Ford’s official site for the bike and the Smart Mobility plan right here.
