Invented in the wake of the devastating 2011 Great East Japan earthquake, Minim+Aid is an emergency preparedness kit that was developed with an eye toward versatility in a wide variety of emergency situations. Its main objective in those situations is for its features to include “the bare minimum necessary for a city-dweller to make it to a place of refuge during an earthquake or other disaster,” and as such it’s outfitted with a variety of features.
Those features include a whistle, radio, compact raincoat, lantern, room for the storage and drinking of clean drinking water, and a general storage case. All this fits in a remarkably small package that can be carried anywhere, with included USB charging functionality as well. And like any self-respecting emergency preparedness kit, Minim+Aid comes in your choice of three colors!
The Minim+Aid doesn’t appear to be available for purchase yet, but hopefully it will be before the next major natural disaster. In the meantime, you can get more information on it and what it can do at the Nendo official site here.
