Michael Jordan is a god in two universes, but here we have an item that concerns the overlap between both of them: Basketball and sneakers. To be specific, Michael Jordan’s 1992 Dream Team sneakers, worn during much of Jordan’s on-the-court action during the 1992 Olympics in Barcelona, are going up for auction later this month.
These size 13 Nike Air Jordan 7s were worn by Jordan himself during the legendary Dream Team’s string of victories leading to Olympic gold medals for Jordan and teammates Larry Bird, Magic Johnson, Charles Barkley, Patrick Ewing, Clyde Drexler, Karl Malone, John Stockton, David Robinson, Scottie Pippen, Chris Mullin, and collegiate player Christian Laettner. The sneakers were made specifically for Jordan, as evidenced by his number 9 on the back, and the design was never made available to the public.
The auction for Michael Jordan’s 1992 Dream Team sneakers starts on April 30th at Goldin Auctions right here, where you can get more info on the sneakers and their one-of-a-kind collectors’ item status.
