One of the most iconic models in the Mercedes-Benz line is the SLS, and now Mercedes is giving its flagship vehicle an environmentally-friendly upgrade in the form of the SLS AMG Electric Drive.
The Electric Drive houses an electric engine in lieu of the traditional V8 engine. But don’t be fooled into thinking you lose performance along with internal combustion, as the Electric Drive can go from 0 to 62 miles per hour in just under four seconds!
Since this is an electric car, it does require 20 hours to reach full charge, or three hours with a special attachment. And once it’s fully juiced, it can only cover about 155 miles. So you may want to take that into consideration before purchasing one of these vehicles.
If you’re interested, the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Electric Drive is expected to hit show rooms sometime next summer, starting at around $530,000.
