New from Mercedes-Benz, it’s a view of what the future of long-haul trucking might look like ten years from now. The Mercedes-Benz Future Truck 2025 is a concept truck currently being tested by the company, but it reportedly isn’t just a publicity stunt or advertising demo, but a real concept for the Mercedes line of trucks in ten years’ time. I guess there’s something to be said for advanced preparation.
The Mercedes-Benz Future Truck 2025 is equipped with prototypical versions of features that just might be commonplace in 2025, like “Highway Pilot,” a computerized automatic radar driving system and the accompanying reclining driver’s seat (!). Then there’s the visual design, which is a little like if Optimus Prime and the starship Enterprise had a baby.
You can see a few images of the Mercedes-Benz Future Truck 2025 in the gallery right below these words. And for more from Mercedes-Benz, including more information on this project, head to the company’s official website here. Then, just try to stay alive for the next ten years, because it would appear that driving is about to get really interesting.
