Spidey fans who either own or can acquire a PlayStation 4 have a reason to get excited, since the upcoming Marvel’s Spider-Man looks to be a real web fluid sizzler. As a show of confidence, Sony put out a nearly 7-minute gameplay trailer for the game at E3, which you can now view online. And unlike most previous Spider-Man games, the story for this one is wholly original and not synchronized with any film or comic book storyline:
“Marvel’s Spider-Man features your favorite web-slinger in a story unlike any before it. Now a seasoned Super Hero, Peter Parker has been busy keeping crime off the streets as Spider-Man. Just as he’s ready to focus on life as Peter, a new villain threatens New York City. Faced with overwhelming odds and higher stakes, Spider-Man must rise up and be greater.”
As you’ll see in the trailer below, Marvel’s Spider-Man goes back to that old superhero chestnut of a bad guy breaking into super-prison and letting all the baddies loose. Take a look:
Marvel’s Spider-Man reportedly hits the PS4 on September 7th.
