I won’t pretend to be an expert on 3D printing, since (a) I don’t really know how it works, and (b) the fact that it even exists continues to blow my mind whenever I think about it. But I can tell you that the Mark One, the upcoming 3D printer from Mark Forged, is being billed as the first in the world that can print parts out of carbon fiber.
Carbon fiber, being much stronger than traditional 3D printing materials, represents a big shift in the possibilities of 3D printing. According to Mark Forged, carbon fiber is even stronger than 6061-T6 Aluminum.
