One of the hallmarks of 1960s scifi TV, Lost in Space already came back in the 90s with (and I’m not going to look this up), I want to say Matt LeBlanc? But now it’s coming back again, to Netflix no less, and a trailer announcing the date of release has recently hit the internet. And it comes with a plot synopsis, too:
“The Robinson family, part of a highly trained mission to establish a new colony in space, is unexpectedly pulled off course forcing them to crash land on a lost planet.”
On paper, that sounds pretty much identical to the original Lost in Space. But where the original series was a somewhat comical take on scifi themes, the trailer for the new version is comparatively serious in tone, as in keeping with the modern trend for serious reboots. Take a look:
Lost in Space comes to Netflix on April 13, 2018.
