Living in the CGI era has its benefits, especially if you enjoy watching hordes of robots, dinosaurs, or (one day) robot dinosaurs at your local movie theater. But one downside to this digital utopia is that you really can’t trust a professionally-produced video that purports to show something incredible, especially when it’s as shrouded in pomp and mystery as the new video demonstrating a Lexus hoverboard is.
Be that as it may, Lexus claims to have developed a real, working hoverboard, just in time for this year’s ongoing Back to the Future Part II mania. The Lexus hoverboard works with technologies like magnets and “liquid nitrogen cooled superconductors,” but it’s also been designed with care, and the bamboo used in its construction gives it a classy, elegant vibe that’s vintage Lexus.
The Lexus hoverboard is part of a big campaign Lexus is doing called “Amazing in Motion,” demonstrating a few different amazing things they have in the works. You can watch a teaser for the board below, and stay hovering on the product’s official site right here for more information on this thing, just in case it actually turns out to be real.
Here’s the video:
