Levi’s first introduced the world to its 501 jeans way back in 1944, and a lot has changed in the world of denim since then. So appropriately, they’ve come out with the updated 501 CT jeans – the “CT” in this case standing for “Customized and Tapered.”
The customization and tapering of the old 501 jeans consists of a redesign that has the jeans sitting lower on the hip with a tapered leg and distressed patches of denim throughout. Voila, the 501 CT is born, and you have a pair of jeans that Levi’s is doubtlessly hoping will last another 70 years.
Whether or not that will prove to be the case, you can’t fault Levi’s effort, said to be inspired by the brand’s own customers (that’s certainly a good place to start when bringing old styles into the 21st century). You can watch a commercial for the new Levi’s 500 CT jeans below, and do some shopping or browsing at the Levi’s site here.
