‘Cube’: Artists Lernert and Sander Cut Foods Into Perfect Cubes (Photos)

by Joseph

Can food be art? Dutch artists Lernert and Sander have answered this question on their own, with Cube, a new photograph appearing in Dutch newspaper de Volkskrant. Basically, the concept of the photo is that the artists took 98 different food products and cut them into tiny, perfect 2.5 x 2.5 x 2.5 cm cubes. Why? I’m not sure, but it does look cool.

The foods included in Cube range from kiwi, green bell pepper, dragon fruit, carrot, what looks like a few different kinds of meat, and a whole lot more. And even though it’s an incredibly simple concept, there’s something very visually compelling about it (not to mention appetizing).

You can see Cube by Lernert and Sander, as well as some eye-popping closeups taken from the photograph, in the gallery below. And if you want to see more from the artists, check out the duo’s official site right here.
