The big downside to watching the world-famous 24 Hours of Le Mans race is that it takes 24 hours. There are alternatives to watching it in real-time of course, like highlights packages on TV or fast-forwarding through coverage on your own, but none of them are as stylish or beautiful as photographer Camden Thrasher’s stop-motion Le Mans in stop motion video.
Le Mans in stop motion takes 1,158 separate pictures taken from 24 Hours of Le Mans and puts them together for a fluid, fast-moving visual narrative of the most recent race that takes a little over two minutes to watch.
You can watch Le Mans in stop motion, commissioned by auto brand Audi, for yourself below. And since I guess they deserve some measure of reward for helping to put together such a cool video, I’ll recommend you take a look at the official Audi site here, if you’re so inclined.
