‘LBJ’: Woody Harrelson Plays 36th President (Trailer)

by Joseph

President Lyndon Baines Johnson had the most dramatic ascension to the Oval Office in recent history, so it’s about time we got a big screen dramatic rendering of those events and the presidency that followed. It’s LBJ, starring Woody Harrelson as the eccentric Texan president who signed the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

LBJ is a Rob Reiner joint, and also stars Jennifer Jason Leigh as Johnson’s wife Ladybird (an interesting choice given her penchant for sinister characters). There’s a new trailer for the movie now online, with all of the gentle wisecracks and respectful reverence you could possibly want from this kind of material, plus Bill “The Still Living One” Pullman and Harrelson in an uncanny array of facial prosthetics to make him look like the man himself. Take a look at the trailer for yourself below:

LBJ will be sworn into theaters in an emergency impromptu ceremony on November 3rd.
