I imagine most who write or talk about the new KFC Gamer’s Box 2.0 will categorize it as something like a “fried chicken box that’s also a video game controller.” That’s totally accurate, and completely in line with KFC‘s recent strategy to do a bunch of crazy stuff to get people to tweet their brand name as many times as possible. But I’d like to offer a different perspective on this product: It’s a video game controller that also holds piping hot fried chicken.
Take a look at whatever game controllers you have laying around – could any of them hold chicken? Could any of them hold anything, except maybe a memory card or some such attachable accessory? No. But the KFC Gamer’s Box 2.0 can and indeed was designed to hold chicken, biscuits, mashed potatoes, slaw, and whatever else comes in a KFC box in between the two controller pieces (thighs?) that are stuck to the sides. You just plug in your phone, and play.
As you probably guessed, the KFC Gamer’s Box 2.0 isn’t for sale, but it is the subject of a giveaway promotion at KFC India’s Facebook account here.
