I remember an old article in The Onion about a father painstakingly making an Xbox out wood for his son because he couldn’t afford to buy one at the store. The joke there was that handcrafted video game controllers were an absurdity, but now Kem Studio has unveiled the Kem Studio S1, a video game controller handsomely constructed from wood and aluminum.
The Kem Studio S1 was designed in conjunction with New York “lifestyle gaming brand” SON, and to emulate old-school controllers of the past with a dose of style that’s straight out of 2015 while remaining unmistakably timeless. Also, wood just feels better than plastic, that’s a fact.
Pricing info and additional release details on the Kem Studio S1 video game controller should be available at Kem Studio’s official site here, where you can also get some more information on the controller. Or you could just watch a video about it below.
