After seemingly decades of buildup, the world is finally (almost) ready for the assembly of the Justice League, and now we have the first official trailer for the film to help tide us over until it comes out later this year.
Conspicuous in his absence in the trailer is a certain illegal immigrant from the planet Krypton, but a recent USA Today interview with the film’s director revealed that he is indeed part of the lineup, telling the publication the following:
“It’s hard to have a Justice League without Superman. That’s how I feel about it.”
The rest of the gang’s all here, though, with Batman getting together with Wonder Woman, Aquaman, The Flash, and Cyborg to combat some global menace that no individual member of the team would be able to handle on their own (Green Lantern would probably be able to take care of it, though). And since everybody hated the serious, gloomy tone of Zack Snyder’s first two DC films, this one appears to have plenty of jokes and levity to help the serious business of superheroics go down more smoothly.
