I don’t know if we’re past the point of needing to describe every major augmented reality game based on a major media franchise as potentially being “the next Pokémon GO,” but the comparison seems pretty apt for a game that appears to be essentially Pokémon GO but with dinosaurs. It’s called Jurassic World Alive. Here’s the developer on what the game will be like:
“Players discover dinosaurs by locating them on a map and deploying an in-game drone to collect DNA samples.”
Players will also be able to take photos with the dinosaurs they find, or if they have a taste for violence they can battle them as well. The only aspect of Jurassic Park that seems to be missing from Jurassic World Alive is dinosaurs breaking out and killing people, but maybe the technology for that will exist soon enough.
In the meantime you can check out a trailer for Jurassic World Alive below. The game comes out on June 22nd, and you can pre-register to the app at the game’s official site right here.
