What do refined gentlemen and replicants drink in the year 2049? I can’t say for sure, but perhaps it’s something like the new Johnnie Walker Black Label The Director’s Cut, a special limited edition whiskey that actually appears in the upcoming film Blade Runner 2049.
Johnnie Walker Black Label The Director’s Cut is a, excuse me, cut above the usual Hollywood cash-in because it was actually designed with input from Blade Runner 2049‘s director Denis Villeneuve. You can watch Villeneuve discuss the project in a commercial for The Director’s Cut below:
Johnnie Walker Black Label The Director’s Cut is a limited edition, so only 39,000 bottles of the stuff will be made, not counting the bottles being shipped off-world. It’s got more alcohol than standard whiskey – 49 percent, a nod to the movie’s title – so be careful with it if you happen to get your hands on some.
