Any bourbon from the legendary defunct Stitzel-Weller Distillery is by definition “very special,” since it’s no longer producing anymore. But the Old Fitzgerald line is an even more limited edition from that famous product line, recently acquired by Heaven Hill. The company purchased 12 barrels of the stuff, which has now been aged for 20 years before being released as John E. Fitzgerald Very Special Reserve.
John E. Fitzgerald Very Special Reserve is a limited edition of only 3,000 bottles, and each one comes in a handmade box with die-cut keyholes and a hinged, magnetized door – a handsome enough presentation that makes this a tempting buy even for someone without much interest in bourbon.
Since each bottle costs $300, though, you probably won’t be doing that. If you do want to actually drink the stuff, though, you can get more information on your limited edition bottle of John E. Fitzgerald Very Special Reserve at the official Heaven Hill site right here.
