Mortal Kombat X was released to violent souls everywhere last month, but the first batch of downloadable content is coming out for “Kombat Pack” subscribers on May 5th. And now, we’re getting a look at probably the most eagerly anticipated part of that batch, a trailer for none other than Jason Voorhees’ entry into the Mortal Kombat arena.
The trailer reveals what most Mortal Kombat fans probably already knew: That Jason Voorhees’ sensibilities as established in the Friday the 13th films are pretty simpatico with the blood-and-gore aesthetic of Mortal Kombat X. And the fact that he can’t be killed sort of works too, since he can keep coming back for more no matter what happens to his body (another quality he shares with the rest of the Mortal Kombat gang).
You can watch the Jason Voorhees x Mortal Kombat X trailer below. If you’re a Kombat Pack subscriber, you can take his machete out for a spin tomorrow, but everybody else has to wait until May 12th. And for more from the game, head over to the official Mortal Kombat X website here.
