Of the many, many enduring contributions to our culture made by George Costanza, perhaps the most practically useful is his legendary answering machine outgoing message set to the tune of the Greatest American Hero theme song. Among those deeply touched by this song has been Kat Dennings, who announced on a recent appearance (alongside Jason Alexander) on The Late Late Show that the song has been her voicemail greeting for several years.
When you make an announcement like that while sitting next to George Costanza himself, you pretty much know what will happen next. And sure enough, the Seinfeld star re-recorded the voicemail greeting for Dennings, substituting her name for his own, and a jolly good time was had by all.
