Jackie Robinson is one of the most iconic figures in not just sports history, but American history as well. And while many are familiar with the vague outline of his story, most are probably unaware of the specific ups and downs he endured during his legendary career. So with that being said, it is great to hear that they have finally made a movie on the subject, which is appropriately titled, “42,” for his iconic jersey number, which has since been retired by Major League Baseball.
You can see a trailer for the upcoming movie below. Robinson himself will be played by Chadwick Boseman, and he is joined by Harrison Ford who plays Branch Rickey, the MLB executive who first signed Robinson to a minor league contract and then helped bring him to the big leagues.
