Luxury watchmaker IWC is preparing for this year’s Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie with the new IWC Portuguese Yacht Club Chonograph. The watch retains many familiar elements from previous versions of the Portuguese line, but with some new touches as well to keep things interesting.
The IWC Portuguese Yacht Club Chonograph’s self-winding movement, developed in-house by IWC, is one of those returning elements, joined by a 68-hour power reserve. As for changes, the biggest one has to do with the size of the watch – IWC reportedly fielded lots of consumer comments to the effect of a smaller watch being desirable, so this version represents a slight decrease in diameter, from 45.4 to 43.5 mm.
Release details on the IWC Portuguese Yacht Club Chronograph are still to come, but you can expect more information from IWC as we get closer to SIHH later this month. In the meantime, you can get some more information on the watch, priced between $14,000 and $26,400, at the official IWC website here.
