After months of rumors, innuendo, and premature outrage, Apple has finally given the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus their official unveiling. Many of the rumors turned out to be true—most notably the one about that missing headphone jack—and response to the new iPhone has been decidedly cooler than towards previous installments.
Still, there are some undeniably good pieces of news related to the iPhone 7. For one, it’s the first in the iPhone line to be totally water and dust-resistant, and it also boasts improved battery performance over its notoriously juice-hungry predecessors. Even people married to their old headphones aren’t completely out of luck, since Apple will sell Lighting adapters that can connect old-fashioned headphones to the new smartphone.
Pre-orders on the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus will begin on September 9th at the product’s official site right here, where you can also get a lot more information on the new iPhone’s features, upgrades, and tech specs. Or you can just watch the short and sweet introductory video from Apple below.
