Everybody loves New York, but have you ever wondered why everybody says they love New York? Milton Glaser, the famous graphic designer who came up with the “I ♥ NY” graphic that has become near-ubiquitous since it was first developed in 1977. And now, a short video documentary of the same name and produced by Dress Code lets Glaser himself tell the tale.
I ♥ NY is billed as “a short film about Milton Glaser, the creator of the infamous I Heart NY symbol and his struggle to find love for the city in a trying time,” which when discussing New York City in the late 70s is probably a massive understatement.
You can watch I ♥ NY below. For more where that came from, check out Dress Code’s other fashion-related video content on Vimeo right here. And if you want to see more of Glaser’s work, I recommend you start with Mickey Mouse in Vietnam — go ahead and Google it.
