Luxury Swiss watch brand Hublot is close to the top of the line in the world of watchmakers. And just when you thought they couldn’t add any more prestige to their brand, they’re now the “official timekeeper” for the Los Angeles Lakers.
It happened on Tuesday night, when the announcement was made during a pre-game ceremony at the Staples Center in LA. It’s all part of the beginning of a five-year sponsorship of the Lakers on Hublot’s part, which will include all kinds of promotional presence for the brand at Laker games.
This isn’t the first or only such relationship between Hublot and an NBA team. Back in 2010, Hublot and the Miami Heat forged a similar bond. When asked what would happen if the Heat and the Lakers were to meet in the NBA Finals, Hublot’s Chief Executive Ricardo Guadalupe said, “That would be very good for us.”
I’d imagine so.
