Taste is obviously a very subjective thing. What may be too spicy for one person might be completely bland for another. But did you know that in the case of spicy hot peppers, there’s a way to objectively measure the amount of figurative “heat”? It’s called the Scoville Organoleptic Test, and it measures the amount of capsaicin (the stuff that burns your tongue) in peppers.

But be warned: All of these peppers are much spicier than any “spicy” foods you might get in a mainstream context, and require serious endurance in order to consume.
